Welcome Little Levi

My cute friend, Michelle, had her litle Levi on Sunday September 12, 2010. We have been walking every morning while she was pregnant to get this boy to come out. He is so precious and so little. It's so crazy to see a newborn again. Even though Bristol is only 4 months, Levi looks tiny and Bristol looks so big. He was only 4 ounces smaller than Bristol, it's hard to believe!

Fall is Football Season!

Sam and I have been enjoying the changing weather here in Utah, my it changes fast. It seems like Fall is such a short season. We were going from 80-90 degree nights, now to a very cold 50-60. But, with the weather changing, comes football season. We have had fun speding time with our friends, the VanBrocklins, going to football games. Bristol has enjoyed them too, all nice and cozy!

Bristol is 4 Months! 09.08.10

09/08/10
Dear Bristol:

Today, you turned 4 months. You are getting so big and changing so much. I can hardly believe it has been 4 months already. You are such a sweet little girl. Your daddy and I love seeing you’re smiling face everyday and having you in our lives. You are such a blessing to us and we love you so much.

You have changed so much this last month.

•You weigh 15.7 pounds and are 26 inches long. You are still in the 95-98% for your height and weight.

•You are a thumb sucker. We noticed how much you loved your hands and we were trying to keep them out of your mouth. When we took our trip to Oregon in August, grandma Flory said it’s normal for babies to suck on their hands and that we should let you. That day we let you do it all day. The next day you found your thumb. You haven’t looked back. You love your right thumb. You have sucked it so much that it’s now red. We keep pulling it out, determined to get you to stop, but I don’t think we are having any success.

•You are still a chatter box. Everyone comments on how much you jabber. It is so cute; I just want to know what you are saying.

•You love to giggle. We can make you giggle all the time now and everyone loves to hear it.

•You now love your baths. At first you really did not enjoy the water, but now you love getting in a squirming around. You aren’t splashing around, yet, but I’m sure that will come soon.

•You enjoy our walks every morning. It is fun to get you outside because you just love being there.

•You are so squirmy these days. You can squirm your way out of your diaper when we are changing it. This makes it difficult to change them, but its fun to see you move around.

•You love to smile. My favorite thing is when you are waking up in the morning, after your big stretches, you open your eyes and smile at me.

•You can no longer sit through movies. You just love to talk and that is distracting to those around us.

• You love reaching for things. You now can reach up to grab things and your hand-eye coordination is great.

•You have beautiful dark eyes. They are almost black.

•Your hair is about 2 inches long now. You are balding in the back still and thinning a bit, but you still have so much hair.

•You love hearing us sing to you. We know our voices aren’t the best but it calms you down and relaxes you.

•You love the rocking chair. We just got one this month. I love just rocking and holding you as much as I can. I know this time won’t last forever, so I’m soaking it all in.

•You recognize your mommy and daddy. You always smile at us. You are getting more comfortable around other people, you smile at them too.

•You have a hard time making it through the 3 hours of church. We usually end up in the hall pacing with you so you will calm down. It’s okay; we have a hard time too! ;)

Bristol, we love you so much and cannot get enough of you. We love every second we get to spend with you. You are growing and changing so fast, this time is just going by. You are already a heart breaker. You are a beautiful baby girl. Always know that we are here for you for whatever you need. We both love you so much.

Love always,
Mommy

Labor Day Weekend in Payson

We love visiting Payson to see the Kelly's. We had a lot of fun hanging out. Michelle had to work, which always seems to happen when we go down there. On Monday we headed to the Payson carnival to walk around and spend some time outside. I just wanted to post this video of Scott making Bristol laugh. Here are some pictures too.

Sam's Mountain Biking Adventure- 09.05.10

In February, Sam took up mountain biking. It was something that he saved and saved for so he could get an awesome bike. He has been itching to go every weekend since we moved up here. I think this was his 3rd trip and it happend to be his last, for a little while that is. You see, Sam and his mission buddy Russel went up to a trail in Draper. I just happened to tag along to do some shopping down that way, thank goodness. They told me it would only be about a 30 minute ride. 45 minutes later they come stumbling in the door. Well, Sam was, not Russel. Sam was not feeling too hot, took a stumble over his handle bars and landed on his left shoulder. He is pretty good at handling his pain, but this time he really was feeling it. We went to the Urgent Care, thank goodness I've been working- a perk is that my family gets treated for 5 bucks! Sam has a 2nd degree AC seperation in his left shoulder. So, here he is a day after. Luckily, physical therapy and lots of R and R will cure this one. Well, we hope so anyway, we hear this shoulder thing is a nagging injury. So far, PT has been going great, after the second session he already had is range of motion back.

We Are in Big Trouble!

She's found it and she isn't giving it up... easily that is. We are working on it, but it's going to be a hard thing to do considering she is attached and does it while she is sleeping. The plus side- she sleeps a bit longer than usual. The down side- horrible teeth. What do we do?

P.S. This all started after our visit to Oregon in early August. I'm blaming my mom.. he he.. she allowed her to suck on her fist the whole day we were in HR. Now's she's found the thumb and the rest is history.

A Quick Visit from Uncle Steve

08.31.10-Sam's brother, Steve, was on his way through to a summer job when he decided to make a quick pit stop to see us. Bristol loves her uncle Steve!

Summer Fun- August 28, 2010

As the summer is coming to an end, the Kelly family decided to have a little BBQ/swim at the Dallings. It was so much fun to get together with the cousins. Sam loves this time he gets to spend with his cousins, mostly pool basketball, and Bristol and I enjoyed sitting on the poolside soaking in the sun. She is getting more used to the water, but only if it is warm. This pool felt a bit chilly and she really wanted nothing to do with it. It is always a good time when we get toghether with the Kelly family. Summer is coming to an end and we are going to miss this wonderfully hot weather.

Who does she look like?

I already know the answer, just because everyone has already said it.. but maybe she has some of my traits? We will have to see when she gets older.. I'm secretly hoping for a little "mini-me!"

We decided one night to take some pictures of our little family. Sam took some pictures of Bristol and I napping on the couch which were pretty cute. We just got this new camera, our old one died on us, and we have been having some fun with the color changes you can make. Bristol is just chaning so much. She is getting to such a fun stage where she laughs and smiles with us. She has such a cute personality, it's so fun!

Hiking in Kaysville in August- 08/19/10

We decided to head up to a trail on the east side of Kaysville. Sam has been scoping out some good biking trails here in Utah so he can go mountain biking. We went up to this trail around 8pm and just hiked for a bit. It was a beautiful evening outside. Bristol loves being in her pack and being able to be outside. We have broken her in to the whole hiking thing and she really enjoys it. Look at her cute smile!!

Surprise! Sam turned 27 on August 17th, 2010

The good wife that I am, I threw a surprise birthday get-together for Sam on his 27th birthday this year. August 17th landed on a Tuesday so I was thinking we would have to make it a weekend event, but Sam's family and friends were more than willing to drive up to Park City to our favorite sushi joint, Flying Sumo, and surprise Sam for his birthday. I had baked Sam a cake that totally flopped, and what I mean by that is that I could not get it out of the pan without it falling apart. This happend in Miami too, so it wasn't the elevation. I know next time to use wax/parchment paper in the cake pan so it won't stick. I was planning on taking the cake up to the sushi restaurant, had it all planned out for one of his friends to stop by and pick it up, but it didn't turn out. Our good friends, Gary and Jess, bought one and brought it to the restaurant. We headed up to Park City and watched Inception. We decided this was Bristol's last movie. The first 30 minutes or so I was walking the halls trying to get her to stop crying. I missed a lot of the movie, but was able to catch up when I came in and did the hand off to Sam to get her to fall asleep. By this time she was calm and tired. He ended up spending most of the movie in the front of the theatre, walking up and down the side hall trying to get her to fall asleep. As soon as she would drift off he would try to sit down and she would wake up. His right arm was so sore after this.. poor guy. Then we headed to the restaurant where 11 of Sam's closest friends and family joined us. Scott, Mike, Chris, Cara, Brody, Gary, Jess, Russel, Amanda, Rhett, and his gf were there. It was so fun! and such a good surprise. Of course, being Sam, he is way too hard to surprise and he had some idea I was doing this. But, all in all it was a great night and the Sushi was amazing, as usual. We came home that night and were craving more!! Thank you all for joining us in this celebration. It was so fun getting everyone together!!

Visit to Payson 8/14/10

We have made a few trips down to Payson since we moved back to Utah. It is a lot of fun to spend time with Scott and Michelle and the kiddos. We have really enjoyed living close to them, well it's still an hour away, but it's better than 13! The kids love Bristol and are so cute with her. Reagan has figured out how to make her laugh and Kyler can't stop kissing her. I hope they can all be close to eachother as they grow older. I know Sam loves that relationship he has with his cousins and hopes Bristol can be the same!

Bristol's first try in the Bumbo!

August 11, 2010- Have you used a Bumbo? They are a fun little seat that helps little ones learn how to sit up. Bristol loves the bumbo and we are getting a lot of use out of it. She sits in there while I'm cooking dinner, doing my hair and makeup, doing her hair and just for fun. She really likes it. It was fun to see her get in it for the first time, she didn't know what to do with herself. She kept putting her hands up to her mouth like she was in a punching position. It was really cute to see her wobble her little head around trying to hold it up.
